Are You Cut Out To Be A Freelance Writer?Working for yourself isn't for everyone. It takes discipline and tenacity. I grew up in an entrepeunerial household. My parents ran their own business from the property where we lived. I picked up the entrepeuneurial spirit through osmosis. My parents never sat me down and said, "This is how you go about working for yourself." But because their day to day business was all around me I simply watched, listened and observed. Working for myself became second nature to me. It also caused me problems because when I did work for someone else I was constantly noticing how things could be done better; more efficiently. When my boss couldn't see it my way, I'd grow very frustrated. Eventually I would give notice. But maybe that frustration was good because it always pointed me back to being an entrepeunuer; being my own boss.. I love being my own boss and I LOVE freelance writing. It used to be when I started out freelance writing that I had to approach the local newspapers in person or send out tons of query letters to magazines never knowing if I'd hear back from them. But with the internet, a whole world opened up for me from the comfort of my computer chair. There are all kinds of opportunities for online freelance writing that people are willing to pay you for and its not rocket science to develop a lucrative business writing online content. So if you are a self-starter, love the idea of writing
for a living and you want to stop that awful morning and evening commute
